Overview
Franschhoek Guest Suite used H3-treated pine decking boards; pressure-treated structural pine beams and joists; galvanized brackets and coach screws; stainless-steel screws through the decking; a staircase with matching pine treads; and a teak sealant. The Stellenbosch backyard porch deck is stained H3 treated-pine, stepped around garden and building.

Our approach
Hospitality guest accommodation and a private Stellenbosch porch are different briefs that happen to share a named treated-pine wearing surface.
H3 is named because the Guest Suite and Stellenbosch porch used it. Other decks may use different timber.
The Guest Suite was finished with a teak sealant. Recoating intervals depend on exposure and how the space is used.
